September 18-22, 2019, Budapest, Hungary – World Youth Alliance (WYA) Southeast Europe held the first Certified Training Program (CTP) in the capital of Hungary. The training marked the beginning of the WYA Hungary Chapter.
Following months of preparation, as well as the recent presence of WYA members at several conferences in Hungary, the WYA office for Southeast Europe organized an intensive Certified Training Program in the country’s capital. The five-day training included regular sessions from the CTP, in which the young participants were introduced to the history and work of World Youth Alliance, in Europe and worldwide. They were also engaged in seven sessions of in-depth analysis and discussion about the fundamental ideas behind human dignity and the contemporary human rights project. The intensive CTP also included several documentary screenings.
The training marks the beginning of the WYA Hungary Chapter, making it the eight WYA chapter in the Southeast Europe region. It had a particular international aspect to it, as well, with one group of participants being international students from Kenya, the home of the WYA Africa Regional Office. The Budapest CTP has thus helped strengthen WYA’s membership in both regions.
The training was held at and was financially supported by the Párbeszéd Háza (Eng. The House of Dialogue) in Budapest.
