March 8-10, 2019, Tirana, Albania – World Youth Alliance Southeast Europe (WYA SEE) held a three-day Training of Trainers for the members in Albania – the newest WYA Chapter.
Following the completion of the first batch of Certified Training Program (CTP) in October, 2018, members of WYA Albania participated in a complete three-day training of trainers. The members participated in presentations and workshops that covered media and communication training, Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC) presentation and class simulation, training in project management and fundraising, and training of future CTP trainers. The training was held by Hrvoje Vargić, WYA Europe Director of Partnerships, and Valentino Findrik, Director of WYA SEE.
WYA Albania is the newest WYA Chapter globally. However, they already have good membership, as 34 people completed the initial CTP last year. The primary focus of the Chapter will be the implementation of the HDC in schools in the nation’s capital. For that reason, HDC training gathered the largest number of members during this Training of Trainers. The training covered introduction to fundamental ideas of HDC, analysis of framework by grades, as well as classroom simulation.
“The HDC in Albania comes as an added value to the education of the young generation that needs the education on human values, human dignity and solidarity. This training will lead us to successfully accomplish this task in our community by serving it as a visionary and active youth.” (Enriko, WYA Albania)
Besides the HDC, the members are also preparing to hold their first individual CTP, as they hope to pass the knowledge on human dignity and human rights to their peers, thus gaining new members for their chapter.
“The CTP training was a valuable session, which went more in depth of the key ideas regarding fundamentals of human dignity. Revisiting each chapter and keeping in mind real scenarios with trainees provided a more profound understanding of diverse situations that could happen. During the training, the class simulation and coverage of possible discussions and questions really made me more confident to handle a real CTP Training” (Megi, WYA Albania).
In addition to these, members also participated in a media training, which covered workshops on public appearance and writing press releases, as well as a fundraising training, in which they learned all about various means of fundraising, as well as project writing and management.
