World Youth Alliance will host Independent Conference Hub for XVIII AIDS
Conference, July 19 – 21st, 2010 at WYA HQ in New York
(NEW YORK: July 15, 2010)
The World Youth Alliance will host one of many independent “conference hubs” for the XVIII AIDS
Conference from July 19th – 21st, 2010 at its headquarters in New York City. The XVIII AIDS Conference
itself will take place from July 18 – 23rd, 2010 in Vienna, Austria, and a small delegation of WYA staff and
dedicated members will attend. WYA’s conference hub, entitled “HIV/AIDS Training and Education
Seminar: Solutions to the Global Pandemic by the Youth for the Youth” will include video streams of the
conference in Vienna, along with discussions on HIV/AIDS and policy responses that promote human
dignity. All WYA members and their guests are welcome to attend the sessions, which will run from
10am to 1pm each day of the conference hub (Monday, July 19th, Tuesday, July 20th, and Wednesday,
July 21st). Sessions will be led by Rebecca Marchinda, Director of Advocacy for the World Youth Alliance.
The WYA Headquarters in NYC are located at 228 East 71st St. (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues). The dress
code is casual. Please bring notebooks or laptops to take notes with.
