WYAAP Celebrates Dignity Through Coffee House Session

Last July 12, 2013, WYA Asia Pacific held its annual Coffee House Session. The Coffee House Session is meant to celebrate creativity and showcase the talents of WYAAP members and non-members alike.

The event was held at Midnight Owl Snack Café at Quezon City. With the theme “The Talented Ordinary”, the activity served as a celebration of human dignity through music, poetry, photography and art.

The night was filled with performances from old and new members of WYA.  The first performance was from an independent music artist named Michelle Uy, who goes by the stage name “Mamoorie.” The next two artists who performed were college students from the University of the Philippines Diliman. They were Arvin Buenaagua and Kenneth Geolina, both Political Scince majors talented in singing and playing the guitar.

The last performers of the night were current interns of WYAAP Justine Villegas who sang a medley of songs acapella with her twin sister, while the final performer of the night was Inka Asistores.

Aside from music, the night also highlighted talents from other types of arts. The photos of Vhince Chiu (“Family Bonding”) and Jason Occidental (“Travel Buddy”) and the poem by Abigael Saldana (“My Family Portrait”) were winners of the “My Family Portrait” Contest held last May.
