WYAAP, HFHAP ink partnership for Habitat YOUTH Build 2015

 

WYA Asia Pacific (WYAAP) and Habitat for Humanity Asia Pacific (HFHAP) signed a partnership agreement last December 5, 2014 as part of the official launching of Habitat YOUTH Build (HYB) 2015 at the Habitat for Humanity Asia Pacific Headquarters, Makati City, Philippines. The agreement was signed between WYAAP Regional Director Lord Pomperada and HFHAP Resource Development Director Joseph Scaria at the Habitat for Humanity Asia Pacific Headquarters, Makati City, Philippines..

HYB is an initiative of HFH International in the Asia-Pacific region. It that engages young people to raise funds for, and awareness of, the poverty housing situation where one in eight people lives in slums, according to the United Nations. It is an annual campaign driven by concerned, motivated and socially responsible youth who take action and rally together to tackle poverty housing.

The campaign was launched last December 5 in celebration of the International Volunteer Day. Aside from the signing of partnership agreement between WYAAP and HFHAP, various campaign target and activities were also announced including the Bandana design competition and launch of the Carter Hammer Challenge. 

The campaign culminates on March 21, 2015 when hundreds of thousands of young people in multiple countries across the region build homes, raise funds and awareness and advocate for decent shelter.
