WYA Asia Pacific certified 19 new members during its 2015 WYAAP Summer Camp held from May 12 to 16 at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines.
The 5-day camp, with participants from the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam, included Track A Training discussions and breakout sessions. Campers learned about WYA’s history, human dignity, freedom, solidarity, culture and international law. In addition, there were also different fun and interactive activities everyday to complement the training discussions and build friendship and camaradie among the campers. They also visited the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, one of the new Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
What I liked most about the camp was that even though we were in different groups, we all still helped each other and formed a family despite the brief time we got to spend together. – Rannz Emmett Lim, Philippines
I will use my experiences from the camp to spread the meaning of human dignity in my country, especially when I continue my volunteer work. – Huyunh My Linh, Vietnam
