WYAAP Joins Young Leaders Convention in Baguio City

September 20-23, 2019–World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific gained more than 300 new members in this year’s Philippine iTransform! Young Leaders Convention (PITYLC) held in Baguio City, Philippines. The PITYLC is an annual event by Youthlead Philippines (YLP).

The 8th PITYLC’s theme is Championing Climate Action: Enabling Innovations and Transforming Communities. The primary goal of the convention is to influence and empower both youth and adult leaders to think, work, and act together and make them active stakeholders in the advocacy and localization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

WYAAP Regional Director of Operations Joyce Cedeño served as judge for the Kabataan Fair, a segment that aims to encourage young leaders to formulate innovative ways to solve pressing problems in their communities in the form of project proposals. She also gave a solidarity message on the last day of the convention.

Joyce was joined by current regional intern Johana Pandapatan and certified member Keith Murray Pe. WYAAP also hosted a booth where PITYLC participants were able to learn more about the organization’s projects.

WYAAP would like to thank Youthlead Philippines, under the leadership of Founder and Chair, Metodio Maraguinot Jr. and President, Nickson Felix Epe, RN, for their continued trust in WYAAP.
