WYAAP Partners with Teach for the Philippines

October 21, 2019, Manila, Philippines – WYA members in the Philippines attended the first ever classroom management workshop last October 19, 2019 at the WYA Asia Pacific office in Quezon City, Philippines. For this workshop, WYAAP collaborated with Teach for the Philippines, a for-purpose, non-stock, non-profit organization that works to provide all Filipino children with access to inclusive, relevant, and excellent education.

The workshop entitled “Magsitayo: A Workshop on Effective Teaching Methods for New and Aspiring Teachers of the Philippines” aimed to introduce aspiring teachers to basic skills and techniques in public classroom management and communication.

The workshop also served as a first step for active WYA volunteers to know more about how they can become effective teachers and facilitators of the Human Dignity Curriculum.

WYAAP would like to extend its gratitude to Liezl Navarro and Ms. Mary Dennilene Briones from Teach for the Philippines, their interns, and their members for making this event possible.
