Last February 26, 2013, the World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific Regional Director, Ms. Christine Violago was invited to speak for the Seminar for Peace, which served as the opening program of Far Eastern University’s International Studies Week.This event was held in University Conference Center. The audience was composed of an estimate of 100 International Studies students from different year levels. Over 60 new members signed the WYA charter.
The theme of the talk revolved around youth participation in advocating peace and justice. Ms. Violago highlighted the importance of being peace advocates as these students are headed on a diplomatic career. In addition, she discussed about the work of WYA at the United Nations in forwarding human dignity language as well as maintaining and promoting peace. Moreover, the mission and advocacies of WYA were introduced during the seminar.
Kyra Ong and Auie Anatalio, shared their experiences, pieces of learning, and projects as interns of WYAAP. They promoted the internship program by elaborating on their current tasks and responsibilities. The sharing became an avenue for the interns to encourage the students to participate in the activities of WYAAP.
