September 9-10, 2019, Siargao, Philippines – World Youth Alliance held a two-day Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC) implementation for 34 Supreme Student Government Officers from different high schools in Del Carmen, Siargao Island, Philippines. The implementation was made possible by the Local Government Unit of the Municipality of Del Carmen and was officially endorsed by the Department of Education – Division of Siargao.
Throughout the two-day training, students were taught the importance of understanding their own dignity and the dignity of others. The implementation was led by WYA Directors, Mary Imbong (WYAAP Regional Director) and Joyce Cedeño (WYAAP Director of Operations), as well as WYA Certified Members and volunteers, Mariniell Clarete and Immanuelle Anne Ocaya.
The HDC is an educational program of World Youth Alliance that focuses on personal development and human dignity. Each lesson focused on helping students understand and develop healthy habits, good decision-making skills, and a strong sense of meaning and purpose.
WYAAP would like to extend its gratitude to the Local Government Unit of the Municipality of Del Carmen, Siargao, under the leadership of Del Carmen Municipal Mayor, Hon. Baby Coro, and Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Alfredo M. Coro II and the Department of Education – Division of Siargao for helping bring the curriculum to the student leaders of Del Carmen, Siargao.
