WYAAP Trains Young Leaders in Bataan

World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific (WYAAP) conducted a three-day training to 13 young leaders of the different SOS Children’s Villages in the Philippines lastApril 14-16, 2015.

The workshop, held in the province of Bataan, focused on different areas of leadership and gave the participants new perspectives and ideas on how to become better leaders. The different activities included personal sharing, analysis of case studies, and solidarity and teamwork  games.

“I learned [from the training] that I should not be scared to make mistakes. And as a leader, I also have to encourage [my members] them never to give up,” shared Anabelle, a participant from the SOS Village in the province of Iloilo.

Meanwhile, Eli, a participant from the Lipa City Village, said he is willing to “sacrifice the time I spend on unimportant matters to be able to interact more with the youth in [my] village.”

WYAAP staff Lord Pomperada and Zarina San Jose were joined by interns Bhawana Daswani and Lelit Estipona. WYAAP would like to extend its utmost gratitude to SOS Children’s Villages in the Philippines for making this collaboration possible. SOS Children’s Villages is also WYAAP’s year-long partner for the Sulong Workshops to be held this 2015.
