WYANA co-hosts Conference on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

October 11 – 12, 2019, Harvard University, MA – WYA co-sponsored a conference entitled Robotics and Artificial Intelligence:  A Chance to Rediscover Humanity?

WYA collaborated with The Young Researchers of the Pontifical Academy of Life, Harvard Right to Life, and Abigail Adams Institute, and the event engaged an international cohort of about 30 university students and young professionals.

Participants and speakers explored important philosophical foundations that can guide our use and the development of Robotics and AI. The conference identified that the purpose of robotics and AI is to promote integral human development, and it explored in current advancements that do so. Speakers proposed and explored thought-provoking questions such as:   What is a human person? Can a robot be a person? What is the difference between human action and machine agency?

World Youth Alliance was pleased to work with The Young Researchers of the Pontifical Academy of Life, Harvard Right to Life, and Abigail Adams Institute to make the event possible for our members.  We believe the conference further equipped our members in their understanding of the dignity of the human person and person centered development.
